MADISON, Wis. — As car accidents still remain a leading cause of death and injury among children, with more than 1,000 children 14 years old and younger dying in motor vehicle crashes in 2023, UW Health emphasizes that improperly fitted child car seats are a significant factor.
Dr. Megan Yanny, a pediatrician at UW Health Kids, highlighted the importance of properly fitted car seats in ensuring children’s safety during travel.
“If you are unsure about what car seat is the correct fit for your child, or how to fit your child safely in the car, ask your pediatrician. They are a great resource, and they may be able to guide you to free or discounted car seats.” Yanny said…
