Madison’s City Council recently voted to end a homeless encampment site and housing transition program following the depletion of federal COVID-19 pandemic aid and a lack of clarity on other potential funding sources, among other concerns.
But despite the Sept. 26 end date for a contract between the city’s Community Development Division and the Dairy Drive site operated by the nonprofit Madison Street Medicine, advocates are still pushing to save it and taking bold measures.
