Man arrested after breaking into Madison car dealership with sledgehammer

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man Monday night who they said used a sledgehammer to break into a car dealership on the city’s east side.

Officers were called to the Schoepp Motors at 1518 North Stoughton Road just before midnight. Broken glass was found at a side window, then officers reportedly spotted a 31-year-old man inside with a sledgehammer.
