MADISON, Wis. (apg-wi.com) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources held a public hearing last week on its proposed administrative rule changes related to all-terrain vehicles.
DNR administrative warden Jacob Holsclaw said most of the changes are intended to update Chapter NR 64 of the state administrative code to include utility-terrain vehicles. But, there are also some proposed additions to address safety and conduct among riders of recreational vehicles.
“Really what this is, is an update,” Holsclaw said during the public hearing. “This code has not been visited since 2012 and there have been a lot of changes in all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and utility-terrain vehicle (UTV) statutes. And so essentially, code hasn’t kept up with the fast pace of the statutory changes.”…
