‘Entirely unacceptable’: Wisconsin man clocked at 125mph blames speed on being late for work

VERONA, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers in southern Wisconsin issued a reminder after a 21-year-old was caught speeding at 125 mph on Tuesday morning and blamed his speed on being late for work.

According to the Verona Police Department, an officer was conducting speed enforcement on US Highway 18/151 around 8:40 a.m. on October 14 when they clocked a vehicle at 125 mph in a 65 mph zone.

After the officer stopped the westbound vehicle, the driver reportedly stated that he was running late for work. He was identified as a 21-year-old from Madison.

The driver was cited for speeding, and the officer recommended that he leave for work earlier so that he could arrive on time while obeying speed limits…
