MADISON, WI- It was a special day in Madison for the Shawano Police Department as Officer Tyler Thornborrow was recognized as First Responder of the Year, representing the 6th Assembly District. The nomination came from State Representative Elijah Behnke, with Assembly Speaker Robin Vos commending all honorees for their service and dedication to their communities.
Officer Thornborrow was selected for his leadership in the “We Need You Here” campaign, a partnership between the Shawano Police Department, Shawano School District, and local businesses. The initiative focuses on improving student attendance by encouraging, rewarding, and reinforcing the importance of being present in class every day.
“We are proud to call Officer Thornborrow one of our own. Thank you for all that you do, today and every day,” said Shawano Police Chief Mike Musolff.
Thornborrow’s efforts have strengthened relationships between law enforcement and youth while promoting accountability and community engagement…
