Local Police Respond to Over 1,200 Calls, Including Arrests and Welfare Checks, October 24-27

Between Friday morning, October 24, and Monday morning, October 27, 2025, local law enforcement responded to 1,214 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. The calls were spread across several districts. Central district received 242 calls, East 232, Midtown 200, North 183, South 150, and West 180. There were 27 additional calls listed as ‘Other,’ which included assistance to outside agencies or calls without a specific sector.

During this period, officers responded to various incidents. These included welfare checks and criminal matters. On Friday, October 24, a ‘priority calls only’ period was in effect from 4:46 p.m. to 5:51 p.m. due to staffing constraints. Early that morning, officers in the North district arrested a 59-year-old man for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was found unconscious in a car blocking a driveway and had open containers in the vehicle.

Later in Midtown, officers conducted a welfare check after maintenance staff found a non-verbal, severely autistic, and visually impaired minor. The child was in the care of a person with mental health issues. The child was taken to a hospital, and Child Protective Services were notified. The investigation is ongoing…
