State Superintendent to answer for DPI handling of misconduct allegations

UPDATE at 1:44 P.M. on 11/4/25: Dr. Jill Underly testifies in front of a committee, saying that she is thoroughly investigating every claim of sexual misconduct and that her administration is doing a good job, ensuring that the claims were thorouighly investigated.

MADISON, Wis. — State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly will appear in front of the State Senate Committee on Education today to answer questions about the DPI’s handling of an alleged 200 sexual misconduct cases between 2018 and 2023.

According to a report published in the Cap Times, none of the cases were ever brought to the public. The allegations include reports of “educators sexually assaulting students, soliciting nude photos from students, or initiating sexual relationships immediately after students graduated.”…
