MADISON, Wis. — Urban Triage expense reports to Dane County differ by more than $200,000 to its audit reports for the emergency rental assistance program. Funds for the emergency rental assistance program are paid for by the county, and the county paid Urban Triage to administer the program.
From 2021 to 2023 the total amount of funds reported by Urban Triage in Dane County Human Services expense reports is $3,480.253. The total amount reported in Urban Triage Audits is $3,277,590. This means expense reports show more than $200,000 that was paid that the audits do not account for.
While the county has reported that paying providers ahead of time, which is a violation of state statute, has caused some extra expense issues, it is unknown if that was a cause in this case, as Human Services refuses to answer any questions.
With the county set to give Urban Triage another $1 million in the next budget, County Executive Melissa Agard again would not respond to requests Tuesday to comment on the difference in funds. Agard would not even look at the evidence. Her Deputy Chief of Staff Aaron Colins was notified of the hundreds of thousands of dollar difference months ago. Human Services Director John Schlueter has previously refused to comment or even look at any records regarding Urban Triage. Agard has already been asked to respond to further issues that will be released in an article tomorrow…
