61-year-old in Wisconsin arrested for alleged retail theft, spit on employee & police officer

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 61-year-old man in Wisconsin was arrested after he reportedly stole from a business and spat on an employee in the process and then at an arresting officer.

The Madison Police Department reported that officers were sent around 7:19 p.m. to a business on North Broom Street for a disturbance call.

Staff at the business reportedly said a man entered the business and stole multiple items and spat on an employee upon confrontation. The suspect fled and was found in the 300 block of State Street.

According to the release, the man resisted arrest upon officers’ arrival at the scene, and he spat on one of the officers. He reportedly had two pocketknives on his person.

Officials say he was arrested for discharging bodily fluids at a public safety officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, concealed carry weapon, disorderly conduct, retail theft and resisting…
