3 dead & 1 in critical condition after rollover crash in Wisconsin potentially caused by impairment, occupants weren’t buckled in

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Wisconsin say that a fatal crash on Saturday morning led to three dead people, a dead dog and an individual who is still in critical condition.

According to the Madison Police Department, a single-vehicle rollover crash was reported by multiple individuals around 1:30 a.m. on November 8, which caused portions of Cross Country Road to be closed for nearly eight hours.

Preliminary investigation led officers to find that a vehicle heading eastbound at high speeds rolled over, with four occupants ejected from the vehicle. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene:

  • 31-year-old woman
  • 43-year-old woman
  • 51-year-old man

A small dog also reportedly died in the crash, and a fourth person, a 39-year-old man, was hospitalized with significant injuries. As of 11:37 a.m. on Monday, November 10, the man is in critical condition.

Officials say the group was at a tavern in the area before they got in the car and crashed later. Police believe driving impairment and speed were a factor, and that none of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time…
