Wrong-way driver in Wisconsin nearly hits squad car, cited for 2nd OWI offense

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A wrong-way driver in central Wisconsin was cited early Wednesday morning for his second OWI offense after nearly hitting a squad car.

According to a release from the Madison Police Department, 27-year-old Sendy Flores was heading the wrong way just before 1:30 a.m. on East Washington Avenue.

Police say Flores was arrested after nearly hitting a squad car before eventually moving into the correct lane of traffic.

Flores was then cited for the following:

  • Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense)
  • Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (prohibited alcohol concentration) (second offense)
  • Driving the wrong way
  • Operating after revocation
