Crews lift new steeple onto Holy Redeemer Church after 2024 fire

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Construction on Holy Redeemer Church in downtown Madison has reached a new milestone as crews lowered a new steeple onto the church’s bell tower Monday morning, the Diocese of Madison announced.

In the Facebook post, you can see a crane lifting the steeple in the middle of a clear blue morning.

The new steeple is 48 feet tall and is topped with a 10-foot cross. Organizers also said it weighs 16,000 pounds.

“Our team and partners have been working diligently to bring this historic landmark back to its full presence in the Madison skyline,” said Matt Schultz, Vice President of Vogel Bros. Building Co. “Reaching this milestone is a testament to the craftsmanship and coordination of everyone involved.”…
