Madison Recognized Among Top Wisconsin Cities for Sustainable Fleet Efforts at 2025 Expo

At the 2025 Transportation & Innovation Expo, the City of Madison was named one of the top five Wisconsin fleets for sustainable transportation. Assistant Fleet Superintendent Rachel Darken accepted the Forward Fleet Award from Wisconsin Clean Cities. Madison was one of two municipalities to receive this award.

The City of Madison’s Fleet Division has added electric vehicles, including electric mowers and a sideloading garbage truck, to its operations. In 2025, the city expanded renewable diesel testing.
