Man arrested after pointing gun at women in downtown Madison rideshare vehicle

MADISON, Wis. — A man allegedly pointed a gun at a group of women in a rideshare vehicle Friday night, prompting an officer to respond to the scene after being approached by the yelling women.

Madison police said an officer was in the State Street and North Broom Street area when the women reported being followed by a man with a gun, who came up to them twice as they were traveled on University Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m.

While officers were investigating, the man struck a car at the intersection of Johnson Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Authorities are currently reviewing digital evidence related to the case…
