New additions add variety to Madison’s coffee scene

Madison’s bustling coffee scene is growing consistently, and this year has been no exception. In 2025, the Madison area welcomed six new coffee shops, with two more on the way.

Cafe Domestique

Cafe Domestique’s third Madison location opened on Allen Street in April. The bright and airy cafe at the heart of the Regent neighborhood shares a space with GlouGlou Wine Bar and boasts a sunny back patio. 11 N. Allen St.

Ellipse Coffee and Crepes

One of State Street’s newest additions is Ellipse Coffee and Crepes, a sleek, modern coffee shop that also serves smoothies, shakes, mojitos and of course, crepes. 430 State St.

JavaAbilities

JavaAbilities, which opened in Monona in July, stands out for its mission of employing individuals with disabilities. The cafe has an expansive beverage and food menu that features smoothies, wraps, specialty drinks and more. 5734 Monona Drive, Monona

Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.

Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. opened its second Wisconsin location and first Madison location this year. Its coffee is not only sourced from Yemen, but it’s prepared in the traditional Yemeni method, resulting in a flavor profile that’s unique to Madison. 6730 Odana Road

Rasta Barista

Located on the first floor of the Urban League of Greater Madison’s Black Business Hub is Rasta Barista, a coffee shop that offers authentic Jamaican coffee and even some Jamaican fare, along with a selection of specialty chocolates. 2352 S. Park St.

Vitruvius Coffee and Tea

This new Middleton coffee shop’s menu includes classic cafe beverages like matcha lattes and cortados, plus beer, wine and locally roasted Wonderstate Coffee. It even hosts live music performances throughout the year. 7429 Elmwood Ave., Middleton

Colectivo Coffee’s fourth Madison cafe is set to open on Williamson Street on Dec. 3, 2025. 836 Williamson St.

Ledger Coffee Roasters just announced a new location on Winnebago Street — which will be its second location — set to open in spring 2026. 2237 Winnebago St.
