December 10, 1967- Soul legend Otis Redding dies in plane crash

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – On this day, Dec. 10, 1967, soul legend Otis Redding died along with six others in a plane crash on Lake Monona.

Redding was on his way to a concert in Madison, when the plane went down because of bad weather in the area. He was 26 at the time of the plane crash.

Redding was best known for his song “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay”, which was recorded days before he died and released in 1968 after his death…
