MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – On this day, December 14, 1972, humans stepped on the moon for the final time.
The final astronaut to take steps on the lunar surface was Apollo 17 Commander Eugene Cernan. The Apollo 17 mission started on December 7, 1972. Two other astronauts went with Cernan.
