Wisconsin man arrested for alleged disorderly conduct towards Jewish student organization

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 40-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested on Tuesday for alleged disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer for actions on Monday at a Jewish student group.

According to the Madison Police Department, officers were sent to a building along the 500 block of State Street around 6:15 p.m. on Monday after receiving a report of a man causing a disturbance.

Officials did not specify which organization, but say the building is home to a non-profit organization for Jewish college students at UW-Madison.

According to the release, the man who entered the building in search of food appeared to be wearing a bullet-resistant vest with a Palestinian flag. One witness reportedly claimed that the man kept one hand in his pocket while ‘pointing as if he had a gun.’

Authorities say no weapons were seen and no specific threats had been made, as the man was arrested on Tuesday for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer…
