DEERFIELD, Wis. (WMTV) – An elaborate holiday light display at a home on Main Street is drawing visitors with its festive setup that one viewer compared to the Griswold house from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Homeowner Max Holmquist said the display serves a deeper purpose during what can be a difficult time of year for many people.
“Well, this is kind of a dark time of year, you know we’re a day removed from the solstice and you know it’s not always happy holidays for some people,” Holmquist said. “I mean it’s loss and remembrance and the light that we provide give people the opportunity to enjoy the holidays and have something to look forward to besides you know bleak winter or other things.”
