Monona police pursue two suspects over the weekend

MONONA, Wis. — Monona Police Department responded to two pursuits over the weekend.

Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney said the first one incident occurred on Saturday where a BMW 5-Series sedan was traveling on W. Broadway. An officer responded to the area and saw the vehicle parked in the lot at Kwik Trip along W. Broadway. As the officer drove into the lot, the driver backed from a parking stall, nearly striking the squad car.

The driver exited the lot sped away as the officer initiated a traffic stop which engaged Monona police in a vehicle pursuit. Police said the driver continued to speed away, exiting onto westbound Beltline…
