A look around the studio space of Madison specialty seamstress Rebecca “Nebula” Sites offers a pretty good sense of her eclectic 20-year career.
Hanging near the entrance to Sites’ Madisewn studio at 2809 Fish Hatchery Road are psychedelic quilts made for Madison’s Quilt Expo, quilted landscape decor she has for sale and books on burlesque that recall Sites’ time as a costume designer for a comedy revue called “Chez Bouché.” Nearby are bedazzled crowns and octopus masks from Madison Savoyards’ 2018 production of “Die Fledermaus.”
Sites established Madisewn, an alterations business, in 2015 and moved to a larger location south of the Beltline in August of this year…
