Hazardous travel expected in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Driving in Madison will be difficult Sunday night heading into Monday morning, as rain will transition to snow and winds over 25 mph is expected.

The City of Madison Streets Division provided an update on Sunday in advance of the snowfall. Plows will be out on the main roads plowing and salting, but travel is still expected to be difficult. Trucks will be applying salt and plowing the 800 miles of traffic lanes that make up the salt network. Crews will be on those routes when the storm begins, through the overnight hours, and throughout Monday.

Rain is expected to transition to snow around 6 p.m. at the same time, winds are expected to increase to over 25 mph with gusts approaching 50 mph arriving late Sunday and continuing into Monday morning…
