MADISON, Wis. — A Wausau woman who was flown to Madison for treatment after a house fire died Monday, police said.
Julia Thompson, 68, died as a result of burn injuries suffered during a fire early on the morning of Dec. 27. Thompson called 911 just after 1 a.m. to report that her couch was on fire and she couldn’t get out of her home on her own.
Wausau police reached Thompson’s home within three minutes of her call, entered the home and brought her to safety. The Wausau Fire Department contained the fire to her living room…
