MADISON, Wis. — The Department of Veteran Affairs announced that in 2025, it housed 51,936 homeless veterans across the country. The federal agency said that’s the most it’s permanently housed in seven years.
Wisconsin was part of the solution. In 2025, The Milwaukee VA housed 394 homeless veterans. The Madison VA housed 144 homeless veterans, and the Tomah VA housed 58 homeless veterans. In total, that’s nearly 600 veterans statewide that are no longer homeless.
