MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – People who live on Madison’s north side are calling for safer roads after a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Monday while she was crossing the road.
Sati Xiong lives along Packers Avenue where the crash happened and says the victim was his neighbor. He says this isn’t the first time someone has been hit by a car in the area.
“Unless you use the crosswalk where there are the lights that are flashing, the cars will not stop for you,” he said.
The area of Packers Avenue sees, on average, over 16,000 drivers every weekday, according to traffic data from the City of Madison.
