Like many people who want to cut back on alcohol, Madison entrepreneur Firoz Khimani still wanted to sip on something fun and festive — without booze.
Khimani and his wife, Cailin O’Connor, “started tinkering with some mocktails in our kitchen, and we came up with this Wisconsin old fashioned recipe,” he said. The drink used kombucha as a base. The two thought, “Is this something that we can do commercially?”
A year later, in January 2025, they launched Mock & Co., a brand selling non-alcoholic canned drinks. Right now, their lineup includes riffs on a Wisconsin old fashioned: one sour, one sweet, a sugar-free version and a seasonal flavor made with spiced cranberry…
