Dane County Executive announces review of contracting practices

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County will review how it awards and manages contracts with outside agencies and vendors, County Executive Melissa Agard said Friday.

The review will engage with county departments, partners and experts. Agard said the goal is to boost transparency and ensure taxpayer dollars are being properly handled.

“County government is a large and complicated organization with nearly 3,000 employees, an annual average of 850 contracts, and more than 400 purchase-of-service agencies that we contract with,” Agard said. “It’s vital that we have the right systems and safeguards in place to ensure accountability and excellence across everything we do.”…
