MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – On this day January 17, 191 Wisconsin signed the 18th amendment into law, banning alcohol and starting what was known as prohibition.
The ban went into effect exactly one year later, alcohol was banned on January 17, 1920.
This forced some breweries across Wisconsin to turn to the production of non alcoholic beers, sodas and even dairy products…
