MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A phase two trial has been scheduled for Javairus Hurd.
The 17-year-old will face a jury from February 2nd through 11th. He’s already pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless homicide for the death of Corey Proulx, though he’s claiming mental disease or defect. Meaning the trial will not focus on his mental state when he attacked Proulx during an altercation at the Lincoln Hills Youth Prison in 2024.
