Chef Rob Connoley is inviting community members to take a bite of Verona and Paoli’s past during a special dinner series at Seven Acre Dairy Company this weekend.
On Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 24, Connoley is hosting the Wisconsin Farmstead Dinner with recipes composed exclusively from three, local mid-century cookbooks: “The Mother’s Club of Verona Grade School Cookbook” (Verona, 1951); “The Ladies of the Evangelical and Reformed Church Cookbook” (Paoli, 1949); and “St. William’s Alter Society Cookbook” (Paoli, 1963).
The three-course meal will be prepared in a way that honors the women cooks of the past while adding modern touches. This is an idea Connoley is familiar with, having done something similar with churches in St. Louis, Missouri…
