A new restaurant from Ho-Chunk chef and advocate Elena Terry is set to open early this summer at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, 227 State St.
Tall Grass will begin its life as a café, with coffee, salads, homemade soups and pastries. Terry said there will be a bar and rooftop catering — MMoCA has been renovating the roof, formerly home to Fresco and currently a space for pop-up winter picnics in rentable domes.
The restaurant will be located in the space that was, until 2020, the museum gift shop. It connects with Overture Center and faces State Street. Eventually, Terry plans to add dinner service, with a menu to accommodate pre-show diners and specialty cocktails at the bar…
