Man in Wisconsin in critical condition after being hit by allegedly impaired driver while shoveling snow

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A man in Wisconsin was hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a car while shoveling snow.

According to the Madison Police Department, the incident occurred on January 26 around 1:50 p.m. South Park Street and Fish Hatchery Road.

Officers say the driver was heading northbound when he drifted into the wrong lane and lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a power pole and onto the sidewalk.

The victim was shoveling snow when he was struck and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The 53-year-old driver was also hospitalized for injuries.
