WEST POINT, Wis. — A Nicaraguan man who was deported before he could stand trial in a 2022 domestic violence case in Dane County was arrested again last week in Columbia County.
Roberto Briones Arauz, 47, was charged in November 2022 with multiple felonies including third-degree sexual assault, battery and strangulation and suffocation. The charges all carried domestic abuse assessments.
Online court records show a judge gave Briones Arauz a signature bond in the case, however he was sent to the Dodge County Jail after his initial court appearance and was deported in January 2023. A bench warrant was issued for him in February 2023…
