The No. 2 ranked SPASH Panthers hosted the #4 ranked Madison Edgewood Crusaders on Saturday at KB Willett Ice Arena in Stevens point, but Edgewood just wasn’t prepared for SPASH’s speed in the first period, leading to three SPASH goals and an eventual 6-2 Panther win.
“Unfortunately, we haven’t had enough games at that pace this year so between the bus, a full week of games, and the adjustment to their pace we clearly weren’t where we needed to be in the first period,” said Crusader coach Pete Rothering. “The game was good for us in terms of timing with playoffs coming.”
