Like many entrepreneurs in Madison, Baked Lab’s Shawn Bolduc used to stare at the empty space at 2044 Atwood Ave. as he worked to expand his bakery business.
The last tenant in the space had been Magic Wok, which closed in 2014. “There are so many things that could go into this,” Bolduc remembered thinking.
Bolduc founded his business as The Baked Lab in 2019. His new vision for a retail bakery focused on midday and late-night snacks turned out to be “a really good fit for the space and what we wanted to do, and what the building owners wanted.”…
