MADISON, Wis. — A fire, believed to have possibly been caused by a bulldozer estimated approximately $700,000, occurred at the Dane County Landfill Sunday night, the Madison Fire Department reported.
Ladder 14 was dispatched to the landfill site at around 7:36 p.m. for a bravo-level response, indicating a small outside fire, without delay or complication.
Upon arrival, crews gained access to the closed and secured facility via the eastern gate using a Knox Box override, with no employees on scene. Firefighters could not immediately determine the fire’s source, as it was located at the top of the landfill and out of direct line of sight.
