MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The average age of people staying at a Madison homeless shelter is increasing, creating a greater need for mobility support equipment.
The Salvation Army women’s shelter houses around 100 people per night, many of whom are older and have difficulty getting around.
“We get kind of everybody,” said Ashley Kirschbaum, who works the reception desk at the shelter. “I mean, folks who need oxygen, walkers, wheelchairs, canes — everything.”
