Romance novels are having a moment in Madison — just look at Lake City Books’ romance book club, which filled up so fast after its recent debut that a second meeting time had to be added. Earlier this month, Madison also welcomed a mobile bookstore dedicated to the genre.
To celebrate the genre’s growing popularity, we asked some of Madison’s booksellers to recommend a romance novel or two written by local authors or set in Wisconsin.
“The Snowbirds” by Christina Clancy

Clancy’s story is a tender exploration of how relationships evolve in middle age, and what it really means to commit to someone for a lifetime.
