Trial dates set for driver in tow truck chase that hurt Madison officer

MADISON, Wis. — The man who prosecutors said led police on a chase in a tow truck before crashing head-on into a Madison police officer’s squad car will stand trial in April.

Online court records show the trial for Christopher Brugger, 37, will begin with jury selection on April 20. The trial is scheduled to last four days.

Brugger is charged with over a dozen felonies including first-degree recklessly endangering safety, eluding an officer causing great bodily harm, hit-and-run involving great bodily harm and operating while intoxicated-fourth offense…
