WIAA State Wrestling Tournament sells out in Madison as fans struggle to find tickets

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – For the second straight year, every session of the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament has sold out — leaving some fans scrambling for tickets as the sport’s popularity continues to surge across Wisconsin.

The three-day tournament, held Feb. 26–28 at the Kohl Center, returned to Madison with packed sessions before competition even began.

“Fortunately last year we sold out while the event was going on for the first time in WIAA history,” said Mel Dow, associate director of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. “It was the first time we’ve actually ever sold out an event from the WIAA. And obviously this year, the great news is that we sold out the event prior to.”…
