With a growing portfolio of courses, Rustic Golf Properties is raising the standard for the public golf experience in Wisconsin

Long before he owned six public golf courses across Wisconsin, Rusty Grimm was a cart kid at Two Oaks North in Wautoma, working his way through the golf shop, overseeing daily operations and eventually purchasing the course himself.

“That experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for every role on a course,” Grimm said. “It reinforced that while the golf course and conditions are essential, the people, service and sense of community are what truly define a great golf experience.”

That philosophy extends beyond customer service; it reflects a broader view of what public golf can and should be. And in an era of shifting economics and redevelopment pressure across Wisconsin, the mindset carries increasing weight.
