Dear Editor: While I fully support the changes recommended to improve safety for pedestrians in the area where Sasha Rosen was killed, it’s worth noting that the driver who plowed into him, killing him on the spot, was going more than 60 mph in a location where the speed limit is 25 mph, and Rosen was crossing in a pedestrian crosswalk with the lights flashing at the time she slammed into him.
I would hope that her flagrant disregard for our laws, which resulted in the death of a lovely young man, leads to a lengthy prison sentence. It won’t bring back Sasha Rosen, but it will at least remind drivers that there are consequences for gross irresponsibility on our roads.
