Henry Vilas Zoo reintroduces the Tundra Buggy

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Henry Vilas Zoo celebrated the grand re-opening of their Tundra Buggy on Tuesday.

The Tundra Buggy was introduced in 1979 to help scientists observe polar bears in their native habitats in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. In 2016, it was brought to Henry Vilas Zoo, where it has been a staple in the Zoo’s Arctic Passage.

The Tundra Buggy was closed over the winter for updates to interpretive signage and an interior redesign.
