MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Overture Center filled with attendees Saturday for the 45th International Festival, a free annual event featuring more than 30 cultural performances by artists who live in Dane County.
,Allison Ward, Overture Center Program Manager for Artist and Community Engagement, said the festival is a way for people to connect with their neighbors.
“It’s really important to us to be able to celebrate all of the cultures and the artistry that we have here in Dane County,” Ward said. “These are your neighbors. These are the people that you can connect with and can see all throughout the community. And we get to just bring them under one roof and in every single space that we have here at Overture Center on one day.”
Ward said pulling the event together requires months of planning, but seeing people come together to share their traditions makes the hard work worth it…
