‘Top Chef’ star Dan Jacobs makes German dumplings at Cooking with the Cap Times

“Top Chef Wisconsin” star Dan Jacobs, chef and co-owner of Milwaukee restaurants DanDan and EsterEv, joined us for the latest edition of Cooking with the Cap Times, featuring an audience of Cap Times members.

At Furniture & ApplianceMart in Madison, Jacobs demonstrated how to make three recipes that were currently on the menu at his restaurant with Dan Van Rite, EsterEv: Belgian endive salad, semmelknoedel (German bread dumplings) and parsnip cake.

Along with the finished dishes, attendees at the Feb. 25 event enjoyed a glass of Biokult Grüner Veltliner, a dry Austrian white wine, supplied by wine pairing sponsor Leopold’s Books Bar Caffè, as well as tequila and mezcal samples from Nosotros…
