MADISON, Wis. — Leaders say Madison’s new men’s shelter on Bartillon Drive will have to be open less, due to a funding gap.

Brenda Konkel is the executive director of Madison Street Medicine, which works to provide health care and outreach to people who are homeless. She said the need is growing fast.

“We have double the amount of people we had last year in our outreach program,” Konkel said. “It’s not even warm outside yet.”…
