Road crews battle blowing snow, warn of overnight freezing ahead of Tuesday commute

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Road crews in Columbia and Dane counties spent Monday battling drifting and blowing snow, and officials say the work is not finished as temperatures drop overnight and roads begin to freeze ahead of the Tuesday morning commute.

Columbia County Highway Commissioner Don Nichols said the wind complicated clearing efforts throughout the day.

“We’re trying to keep up with it but the wind is winning the battle here sometimes,” Nichols said.
