Madison workers paid $75K in unpaid wage claims

Workers who filed construction liens and unpaid wage claims totaling $75,331 for their work on a Madison housing project last year have been made whole, a lawyer representing the workers said.

On March 10, a group of construction workers marched and held picket signs in front of the City-County Building in downtown Madison ahead of a Common Council meeting. They were raising awareness around unpaid wages after 13 construction workers said they weren’t paid for subcontractor work at The Intersect, a five-story apartment building at 808 Melvin Court.

The project will create around 192 affordable apartments, supported by low-income housing tax credits and tax incremental financing from the city. It’s expected to be completed in May 2026…
