MADISON, Wis. — A box of lithium-ion battery cells caught fire in a truck at a Madison FedEx distribution facility Monday morning, a fire department spokesperson said.
Crews responded to the facility in the 7300 block of Manufacturers Drive at around 7:40 a.m. FedEx staff have moved the truck away from the building before firefighters arrived.
Staff had used a dry chemical extinguisher on the fire, which allowed firefighters to enter the truck and take out a burned cardboard box. Inside were 64 lithium-ion battery cells…
